Why custom orthotics

Just like no two mouths or eyes are the same, no two feet are exactly alike. That's why dentures are custom-made for each patient and glasses are tailored to your exact prescription — and it's the same reason we recommend custom orthotics. Your feet have their own unique shape, arch height, and movement patterns that over-the-counter inserts simply can't match.

FootBalance — same-day custom insoles

Want custom insoles the same day? Sunnywell offers FootBalance, a cutting-edge service that scans and molds insoles to your exact foot shape in just minutes. Real-time 3D scanning, instant heat-molding, designed for everyday wear or sports.

Diabetic Orthotics & Foot Care

Diabetes can cause reduced circulation and nerve damage in the feet (known as diabetic neuropathy). Without proper care, small foot issues can quickly escalate into serious complications such as ulcers, infections, and even amputation.

Preventive care through diabetic footwear and orthotics can significantly reduce these risks and improve mobility, safety, and comfort.

Who benefits

If you've experienced tingling, burning, or numbness in your feet, or have had ulcers, calluses, or foot deformities, diabetic orthotics may be medically necessary. You may be eligible for annual Medicare coverage of shoes and inserts.

What you can expect at Sunnywell

Our team includes Certified Pedorthists and Orthotic Fitters who will perform a personalized gait analysis and foot evaluation. We carry a wide selection of diabetic shoes from trusted brands like Dr. Comfort, Orthofeet, and Apis, all available in styles ranging from athletic to dress.

Medicare may cover one pair of therapeutic shoes and up to three pairs of inserts each year — and we handle all documentation and physician coordination on your behalf.

Children's Orthotics for Toe Walking

At Sunnywell, we understand that every step matters, especially during childhood. If your child is toe walking, our custom pediatric orthotics and gait correction programs are designed to encourage healthy walking patterns, reduce strain, and prevent long-term issues.

What is toe walking?

Toe walking is common in toddlers as they learn to walk, but if it continues beyond the age of 2–3 years, it may be due to tight muscles, sensory habits, or underlying gait issues. Persistent toe walking can lead to foot pain, muscle imbalances, and posture problems later in life.

Why early intervention matters

When caught early, toe walking can often be corrected with orthotics and simple exercises, avoiding the need for more invasive treatments like casting or surgery.

Our pediatric solutions

  • Custom Children's Orthotics tailored to foot shape
  • Toe Walking Correction Inserts that promote heel-first contact
  • Stretching & Strengthening Plans for tight calf muscles
