Runner's Knee

Runner's knee, or patellofemoral pain syndrome, is a common condition where the cartilage under the kneecap becomes irritated or inflamed. It's often caused by improper tracking of the kneecap due to muscle imbalance, overuse, poor foot alignment, or high-impact activity.

Common symptoms

  • Dull aching around or behind the kneecap
  • Pain during running, squatting, or climbing stairs
  • Popping or grinding sounds in the knee
  • Swelling or stiffness

Our treatment approach

  1. Gait & alignment analysis
  2. Custom orthotics — Correct foot mechanics that load the knee.
  3. Knee bracing
  4. Footwear guidance
